Memorial Day Concert preparations
WASHINGTON (AP/ WJLA) - One of the highlights of the year in D.C. is the annual Memorial Day Concert on the National Mall.
Actors Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna are hosting the annual Memorial Day concert.
This year's concert on Sunday evening will feature the rock band Daughtry, singers Natalie Cole and Trace Adkins and others with the National Symphony Orchestra. Retired Gen. Colin Powell also is part of the program.
Sinise and Mantegna have both dedicated themselves to veteran's issues and to supporting active duty troops.
The concert is broadcast live on PBS at 8 p.m. and by the American Forces Network.
WATCH: ABC7's Ben Eisler reports from the National Mall on what it takes to prepare for the big concert.
