Miley Cyrus: Billboard Music Awards outfit quite revealing
Daybreak Daily’s afternoon invitation into the pop-culture world finds Montana sporting a not-so-conservative look, Robin Gibb, other things, and the mystery music video.
DRESS WHITES: Actually, no dress at all, per Allie is Wired, “Miley Cyrus attended the 2012 Billboard Music Awards and debuted a new retro hairstyle. Cyrus, in her quest to prove that she’s no longer a child, showed up in a white blazer sans trousers, and possibly sans bra, by Jean Paul Gaultier. Needless to say, it’s got the internet up in arms with most suggesting that the look is too mature for her.” http://huff.to/KsfIZl
MEANWHILE: Of a reluctant reward receiver, per Rolling Stone, “Adele dominated the Billboard Music Awards last night, winning 12 awards including top artist, top female artist and top album. The British pop star did not attend the show, though, so her awards were not presented on the broadcast.” http://bit.ly/KFQYlX
ROBIN GIBB: His sound evolved, and did so well, per the Los Angeles Times, “Their hits could fill an entire Saturday night, last until the first church bell rang on Sunday morning and provide a sweat-drenched workout on the dance floor that broke only for the slow numbers. Even more remarkable was that each classic gem of the Bee Gees, whose co-founder Robin Gibb died Sunday after a long battle with cancer, would be packed with feeling.” http://lat.ms/KePc9D
SORRY, PAL: A thief is a thief, per the AP, “The Supreme Court has refused to take up a Boston University student's constitutional challenge to a $675,000 penalty for illegally downloading 30 songs and sharing them on the Internet.” http://apne.ws/LlSmVK
LIVE FROM NEW YORK: A strange end game, per the New York Times, “Though tradition – and Lorne Michaels – try to dictate that major shakeups in the “Saturday Night Live” roster are not announced until the late summer or early fall when contracts for the new season are finalized, Saturday’s season finale certainly felt like a swan song for at least a couple of longtime “S.N.L.” cast members as rumors swirled that Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis were planning their departures this year.” http://nyti.ms/K7YrI9
CABLE STUFF: Just the facts, per The Hollywood Reporter, “Bright House Networks, Cablevision, Comcast, Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable announced Cable WiFi on Monday that will enable each other’s high-speed Internet customers to access their big city WiFi networks outside their home market, creating over 50,000 hotspots where consumers can access their Internet service.” http://bit.ly/KDnvVN
WHITNEY: A new single is released, per Radar, “Hours after John Legend, Jordin Sparks and daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown paid homage to the late Whitney Houston at Sunday's Billboard Music Awards, the singer's final song Celebrate was released Monday.” http://bit.ly/K4tsMG
TOO MUCH INFORMATION: Her new husband isn’t as fashion minded, per People, “While Mark Zuckerberg was taking his company public on Friday, his then-bride-to-be, Priscilla Chan, was quietly putting the final touches on her wedding gown. For her surprise Saturday nuptials, Chan wore designer Claire Pettibone’s “Sky Between the Branches” gown, an ivory laser-cut floral dress adorned with matte sequins lined in silk.” http://bit.ly/LuOsAg
SUCH WISDOM: Wonder what she thinks about Charles Manson, per Us Weekly, “Chris Brown has a new ally in British pop star Cheryl Cole. During a recent radio interview on In:Demand With Alex James, "Call My Name" singer Cole, 28, said she believes Brown has made positive changes in his life since assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009.” http://bit.ly/JrPCfy
SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO?: Maybe it’s not his call, per indieWIRE, “The internet was abuzz this weekend with news of what can either be regarded as Dan Harmon's firing or non-rehiring at "Community," the series he created and served as show runner on for Sony, who produced the series for NBC.” http://bit.ly/Lb3IMW
AND FINALLY: Today’s mystery music video. http://bit.ly/KrsE1v
