A 43-year-old Hyattsville man has been sentenced to life in prison for his role in a conspiracy to distribute PCP and crack cocaine throughout Prince George's County.

A U.S. District Judge handed down the sentence to Rico Toliver, who prosecutors said conspired with several other people to distribute at least two gallons of PCP and more than 280 grams of crack cocaine between October 2009 and May 2010.

Prosecutors say that Toliver worked with at least two other people, Jacinto Bracmort and Ricky Moore, to obtain and distribute the drugs. At one point, evidence showed that he drove to Memphis, Tenn. to buy two kilograms of cocaine that turned out to be fake. He was then caught on a wiretap calling the supplier he bought the fake cocaine from repeatedly threatening his life.

Toliver was eventually arrested on May 1, 2010, at a motel in Laurel with more than $5,000 in cash on him.

Bracmort, 40, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection to the same conspiracy in late April. Moore, 30, earlier pleaded guilty and was sentenced to just less than five years in prison. Three more defendants have also entered guilty pleas.
