UPDATE Saturday 12:08 p.m.: Police say two teens have been charged in the shooting of two other teens at the Rockville Metro station.

Police arrested two Rockville boys, Kevin Q. Nguyen, 16, of the 300 block of North Van Buren Street, and Tavares D. Harris, 17, of the 700 block of Fallsgrove Drive, and charged both with attempted first-degree murder, conspiracy, assault and a weapons offense. Both are charged as adults.

Police say they believe Nguyen was the shooter. Investigators believe that the shooting may have been motivated by an ongoing dispute or disagreement.

Two teens shot outside Rockville Metro Station

Two people were shot outside the Rockville Metro Station Friday afternoon. A 16-year-old boy was shot at least once and is suffering from serious but non-life threatening wounds.

An 18-year-old female was also shot and is suffering from non-life threatening wounds.

Police believe the boy was shot intentionally, but the 18-year-old appears to have been an innocent bystander.

Metro spokesman Dan Stessel says the shooting was reported just after 2:30 p.m. Friday outside the station but on Metro property.

A combined police response included Rockville Police, Montgomery County Police, and Metro Transit Police.

After stopping numerous possible suspects and witnesses, police developed a lookout for the suspected shooter who was found at a gas station blocks away, approximately eight minutes after police were dispatched to the scene of the shooting.

The suspect was taken into custody and a weapon was recovered.

A second person of interest who was reported to have been with the first suspect has also been taken into custody.

In a statement, Rockville Police call the incident "a non stranger based event as the primary target, the 16 year old, and the shooter know each other. There is no motive information at this time."

Metro says rail service was not affected by the shooting.
