Snooki: Pregnant, no-tan look draws much positive feedback
Daybreak Daily’s afternoon slice into the pop-culture pie finds a faded tan, a late-night icon revisited, other things, and the mystery music video.
SNOOKI: No tan lines, per the Huffington Post, “The pint-sized, self-proclaimed "meatball" who's famous for sporting a golden tan showed off her au naturel skin on Twitter. "Whoa look at this non tan. #pregnantproblems," the expecting "Jersey Shore" star tweeted. And the twitterverse may not be the only bunch to see Snooki in her pale state. Reality TV's guidette darling is contemplating having cameras rolling during her child's birth.” http://huff.to/Jbu7zA
WISTERIA LANE: Road closed, per the AP, “ABC's ‘Desperate Housewives’ concluded its rocky, racy and macabre eight-season run with a tidy, affectionate send-off. . . Sunday’s two-hour finale (whose second hour was written by series creator Marc Cherry) was a reminder of why the series struck such a chord with its arrival in fall 2004.” http://apne.ws/JPnmy4
MOVIE MANIA: Once upon a time, this tale went for 15 cents at your local drug store, per the Los Angeles Times, “"The Avengers" joined the elite $1-billion club this weekend, passing the massive box office milestone in just 19 days of worldwide release. After setting the record for the biggest domestic opening ever, the superhero adventure had a massive second weekend, raking in $103.2 million.” http://lat.ms/IU2bKk
HERE’S JOHNNY: In public and in private, per the New York Times, “He was idolized and imitated by three generations of stand-up comics and adored by many millions of ordinary viewers who watched him every night as a kind of nightcap before bedtime. . . “Johnny Carson: King of Late Night,” a portrait of the comedian Monday on “American Masters” on PBS, does a thorough and admirable job of trying to tap into why he was such a big deal.” http://nyti.ms/JXCxWA
DRIVING DISTANCE: Four hours, tops, per Rolling Stone, “Jay-Z will headline the Budweiser Made in America festival in Philadelphia this Labor Day weekend. The festival, curated by Jay-Z himself, will feature a roster of nearly 30 acts from many different genres on three stages at Fairmount Park on September 1st and 2nd.” http://bit.ly/JvOdSc
AMERICAN IDOL: Ratings decline prompts review, per Deadline Hollywood, “During this morning’s Fox conference call, entertainment president Kevin Reilly said the show will undergo “some creative tweaking” heading into next season, declining to elaborate because the reality series is still in production on its current 11th season.” http://bit.ly/JbwNgw
MEANWHILE: Good luck in your future endeavors, per PerezHilton, “After completing his two album commitment with RCA, American Idol star David Cook faces the daunting task of going at it alone. The record company has opted NOT to resign him.” http://bit.ly/IRqwBJ
GUEST STARS: OK. Very nice, per Vulture, “Since it seems like the bottom has fallen out of the market for the kind of romantic comedies that Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker used to star in, they've found refuge with jazz hands: Both actresses will guest-star on Glee next season, Fox announced today.” http://bit.ly/McGfQq
BUT IS THERE A GARAGE ELEVATOR?: Either way, they’re moving on up, per X17, “After spending 8 months in a 2-bedroom temporary rental, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have left their humble abode and moved into something a bit more glamorous in Beverly Hills. The Wanderlust stars have up-sized to a five-bedroom contemporary with a monthly price tag of $40,000.” http://bit.ly/ITZM2g
MEDICAL MATTERS: Serious stuff, per People, “Sarah Hyland is young, beautiful and on a hit TV show – but the Modern Family actress has been quietly battling a serious illness. Hyland, 21, underwent a kidney transplant on April 13, 2012, she reveals in the new issue of Seventeen, on newsstands May 22.” http://bit.ly/JqrhX4
KARDASHIAN ALERT: Of a makeover, per Us Weekly, “On Sunday, Kim Kardashian looked an awful lot like her mom Kris Jenner, 56, as she donned a cropped wig for a sexy shoot for Vogue Italia. The 31-year-old star looked a little less like her mom from the neck down -- wearing an extremely low-cut, S&M inspired bustier.” http://bit.ly/KmtmT7
SPECULATION ALERT: Just the speculative facts, per Radar, “The sexual assault and battery lawsuit that an Atlanta-based masseur filed against John Travolta will never go to trial because both sides have agreed the case should be heard by a private judge behind closed doors in mediation, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.” http://bit.ly/JdSGVQ
