Time Magazine breast-feeding cover makes waves, sparks controversy
Time Magazine has generated plenty of chatter and buzz over the cover of its latest issue, which depicts a mother breastfeeding her grown child.
The cover story for this week's edition of the magazine, just in time for Mother's Day, is about mothers whose attachment to their children goes to the extreme.
It centers around one pediatricians views on parenting, which includes, among other things, extended breastfeeding, which Time has zeroed in on with the cover.
According to the Washington Post, the models for the cover are a 26-year-old mother and her soon-to-be 4-year-old son.
"Judging by the reaction on Twitter this morning. some people think it’s great, and some people are revolted by it," Time Managing Editor Rick Stengel said in an interview with the Post.
