Virginia hosts National Kids to Parks Day
May 18, 2012 - 10:16 am
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia's state parks system is partnering with the National Park Trust to get more young people enjoying the outdoors.
They're teaming up this weekend for a series of kid-friendly programs at every state park across Virginia to achieve that end. Activities include hay rides, the opening of a trail program at Hungry Mother and Grayson Highlands and guided hikes at other state parks.
Called "National Kids to Parks Day," the events are scheduled in Virginia on Saturday.
For more information on the day, go to: www.kidstoparks.org.
