Virginia I-95 crashes leave two dead, one hurt
Updated: May 23, 2012 - 12:06 pm
Two people died in separate car accidents on Interstate I-95 in Virginia Tuesday morning.
Virginia State Police say a person was killed in a single-vehicle crash around 4:31 a.m. in Prince William County. The driver lost control of the van they were driving, ran off the highway, hit a guardrail and flipped over at least twice, police said.
Two passengers were thrown from the vehicle, one of which was transported to Fairfax Inova Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The other died.
The deceased was identified as Marciso A. Campos, 43, of Alexandria.
Hours later, another person died in a multi-vehicle crash just south of the Dale City exit around 7:45 a.m.
In that crash, Virginia State Police say a Ford Econoline van rear ended a truck, which then careened into a Kia Spectra on northbound I-95. The driver of the van, 36-year-old Kevin Mullins of Stafford, died at the scene.
