CRIME
Aaron Thomas to claim insanity
June 4, 2012 - 11:18 am
The alleged East Coast rapist, who is suspected of sexually assaulting at least 17 women and girls in Virginia, Maryland and Connecticut, will claim insanity, according to WTOP.
Lawyers for Aaron Thomas stated in a court filing that the defendant will “put the issue of inanity at the time of the crimes,” WTOP reports. While in custody, Thomas has been mutilating his face and body.
He also suffers from hallucinations and has refused to meet with his attorneys since March.
A hearing is scheduled for Friday to determine if Thomas is competent to stand trial.
