Air National Guard's "Rise to the Challenge Tour"
The Air National Guard's "Rise to the Challenge Tour" will make a stop at the Safeway Barbeque Battle in D.C. this weekend.
The event will give people a chance to simulate real-life missions similar to that of Air National Guard soldiers.
The public can take part in this interactive experience on Saturday, June 23, from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m., and Sunday, from 11 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. The event will be held on Pennsylvania Avenue, between 9th and 10th streets.
As part of the “Rise to the Challenge Tour," participants can refuel a B-2 Spirit bomber mid-air, uncover their mechanical aptitude by working on a jet engine, hone surveillance skills, demonstrate their physical strength and test their medical knowledge. The event also includes gaming challenges designed to test a player’s natural ability and a video booth to record personal thank-you messages.
SSgt. Tabitha Gomes and TSgt. Craig Clapper stopped by ABC7’s Good Morning Washington, where they gave anchor Steve Cheveney a chance to rise to the challenge.
