Bryce Harper: 'That's a clown question, bro'
By all accounts, Bryce Harper is having a tremendous rookie season with the Washington Nationals. The precocious 19-year-old is hitting .307 with 7 home runs and 19 RBI. He's helping the Nats maintain a hold on 1st place in the N.L. East.
That said, it's clear that he won't stand for questions he's not fond of.
After Tuesday night's 4-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays, in which Harper hit a massive home run, a reporter asked him if he would celebrate with a Canadian beer. At 19, it's legal for Bryce to have a drink in Canada.
Harper was less than enthusiastic with the question.
"I'm not answering that," Harper said. "That's a clown question, bro."
As Yahoo! Sports Big League Stew points out, Harper is Mormon, which means he's not allowed to drink anyway.
The Nationals can sweep the Blue Jays with a win Wednesday at Rogers Centre.
Meanwhile, as if there were any questions about if this would happen, you can now get a "That's a clown question, bro" t-shirt. Also, as expected, the hashtag #clownquestionsbro has become quite popular on Twitter.
