Burglar seriously injures UMd. student asleep at home
WATCH: ABC7's Richard Reeve has the story and interviews the student's housemate who said there was "blood everywhere."
A University of Maryland student was seriously injured by a burglar in his home Friday.
A door was busted open while he slept in the middle of the afternoon and he was struck with a hard object.
Two laptop computers were stolen from the home in the 8400 block of 48th Avenue in Berwyn Heights.
The student was taken to a hospital with a concussion and stitches were required.
Students in the area near campus say it's part of a pattern of burglaries and stolen electronic equipment that has been going on.
