Donations sought for victims of Bladensburg microburst
Days after a microburst severely damaged several Bladensburg homes and vehicles, Prince George’s County is asking for public donations to assist the hundreds of displaced residents.
Donations of food, clothing and financial contributions are being accepted Friday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., at 425 Brightseat Road in Landover, Md.
Among the items requested, officials say the following are especially needed:
-Non-perishable pantry food items
-Summertime seasonal new or near new clothing (men's, women's and children's clothing) - folded and placed in boxes.
Although furniture donations are not being accepted at this time, those wishing to donate furniture or appliance are asked to call the Prince George's County Department of Social Services at 301-909-6330.
