Gaithersburg stabbing suspect sought by police
A suspect is being sought in a Wednesday morning stabbing in Gaithersburg, police say.
Gaithersburg City Police officials say the stabbing happened at about 7:25 a.m. in the 100 block of Gold Kettle Drive. The victim, an adult female, suffered from non-life threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Police say that the victim was in her car preparing to drive away when the suspect approached the vehicle and demanded property from her. During the struggle, authorities say the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the woman.
The suspect being sought is believed to be a 37-year-old Hispanic man wearing black pants who fled on a red children's bicycle. The victim does not know the suspect, police say.
