Home catches fire in Howard County
June 19, 2012 - 10:08 pm
A two-alarm fire in Howard County caused $150,000 in damages and left three people without a home, fire officials say.
Crews were called to the home in the 6300 block of Scarlet Petal in Columbia just after 7 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters were greeted by heavy smoke and fire upon arrival.
It took 50 firefighters around 30 minutes to put out the flames.
The only resident inside the home was able to escape without injury.
The Red Cross is helping the displaced residents.
