Kanye West's Nike "Air Yeezy 2" sneakers going for $80K on eBay

The economy may be shaky, but it’s not stopping some “sneakerheads” from shelling out as much as $80,000 for Kanye West’s newest shoe.

Nike’s “Air Yeezy 2” sneakers – designed by Kayne West himself - will hit stores this Saturday, June 9, and retails for $245.

But by Wednesday afternoon, pre-order prices on eBay were up to $80,700, according to NY Daily News. Other bids for the sneakers were in the $3,000-$5,000 range.

The Air Yeezy 2 is reportedly slimmer than the original Air Yeezy sneaker released in 2009.
