Daybreak Daily’s afternoon scouring of the pop-culture directory finds a lot of names and nothing but names, save the mystery music video.
KRISTEN STEWART: She reveals much in new magazine piece, per Vanity Fair, “Of her life as a major star, she reflects on the moment when she realized that Twilight had changed her life. “You can Google my name and one of the first things that comes up is images of me sitting on my front porch smoking a pipe with my ex-boyfriend and my dog. . . In [the tabloids] the next day it was like I was a delinquent slimy idiot, whereas I’m kind of a weirdo, creative Valley Girl who smokes pot. Big deal. But that changed my daily life instantly. I didn’t go out in my underwear anymore.” http://vnty.fr/MdNFOp
KIRK DOUGLAS: No “birther” he, per the Los Angeles Times, “Douglas has written a lively new memoir about one of his greatest triumphs. Titled “I Am Spartacus!” it recounts how Douglas helped break the midcentury anti-communist blacklist by secretly hiring Dalton Trumbo to write “Spartacus,” the historical epic that was directed by Stanley Kubrick and produced by Douglas and came out in October 1960.” http://lat.ms/LmxRIq
AMANDA PALMER: A primer on how to get noticed, per the New York Times, “Ms. Palmer is one of music’s most productive users of social media, galvanizing a modest fan base — her last album sold only 36,000 copies, and she tours small clubs and theaters — through constant interaction that blurs the usual line between performer and audience. She posts just-written songs to YouTube and is a prolific correspondent on Twitter.” http://nyti.ms/LixF2n
NICKI MINAJ: Did not, did too, per Rolling Stone, “Following her sudden withdrawal from her Hot 97 Summer Jam set this past weekend, Nicki Minaj called into Funkmaster Flex's show last night to address the situation. The mood was tense, but over the hourlong interview, Minaj and Flex attempted to clear the air over YMCMB honcho Lil Wayne's decision to pull Minaj from the show.” http://bit.ly/LwrQeu
JUSTIN BIEBER: Have at it, per Hollywood Life, “ (He) has a new song to sing while he’s jet-setting around the world — “All Around the World.” Justin released the new single featuring hip-hop artist Ludacris and we already have it on repeat.” http://bit.ly/KKYj2N
JENNIFER ANISTON: This is one cool chick, per Just Jared, “The 43-year-old actress recently made a surprise appearance in the Ben Stiller-produced web-series Burning Love, a spoof of reality dating show The Bachelor. At the end of the series’ second episode, it was revealed that the mysterious contestant in a bear suit was played by Jen!” http://bit.ly/M4uI19
BILL MAHER: Buys the Mets, gets fried by the Right, per the Huffington Post, “Nobody found the spectacle more amusing than the new owner himself. . . "You know they saw this yesterday and went, 'Bill Maher? Owns part of a baseball team? AAAARGGHH!'" Maher told The Huffington Post. "And then they had to figure out why they were mad. Because it's not immediately apparent why this should be horrible, but they knew it was horrible and then they had to work back to finding a reason why it was horrible. And of course, I just love to (mess) with their heads." http://huff.to/LiGr0m
COOKIE MONSTER: This is just weird, per the AP, “The U.S. has terminated funding for a $20 million project to develop a Pakistani version of "Sesame Street," the U.S. Embassy said Tuesday. The decision came as a Pakistani newspaper reported allegations of corruption by the local puppet theater working on the initiative.” http://apne.ws/KeASfP
LINDSAY LOHAN: Hey, things happen, per Radar, “(She) suffered a wardrobe malfunction Monday while shooting the Lifetime TV movie, Liz & Dick, about the rocky relationship between iconic actress Elizabeth Taylor and her on- again/off-again lover Richard Burton. LiLo accidently flashed some nip during a scene shot on a yacht docked at Marina del Ray to replicate Taylor and Burton's romantic trip to the Bay of Naples in Italy in 1965.” http://bit.ly/Kda2CR
