Man attacks 3-year-old boy for crying, punches mom in Takoma Park
Just before noon today, police say a mother and her 3-year-old son waited at a bus stop in Takoma Park.
The child was crying, and a man said to the woman, "Shut your kid up."
But the boy kept crying, and the man pushed him in the head, knocking him to the ground.
When the woman tried to defend her child, the man punched her in the mouth and took off on foot southbound in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue.
The incident has left the surrounding community confused and surprised.
And while the victims didn't suffer serious injuries, residents demanded justice.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'5, 150 lbs., with short twists in his hair.
Police say the area was canvassed but the suspect was not found. A look-out was given to surrounding jurisdictions.
