Police: Naked man assaults officer in Ocean City
A Montgomery Village man was arrested in Ocean City this past Monday on multiple charges after police say he assaulted a police officer while completely naked.
The incident happened at about 9:30 a.m. on June 11 near the intersection of 140th and Wight streets, Ocean City Police officials say. When officers arrived, they found 35-year-old Brendan Patrick Ohare yelling and chasing someone on the beach.
When officers tried to restrain and detain Ohare, police say he assaulted one of them. After being booked, the suspect was taken to an Ocean City-area hospital for evaluation and treatment for possible substance abuse. The officer was not injured in the struggle.
Ohare was released on his own recognizance after being seen by a judge. He faces charges of indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and 2nd-degree assault.
