Reon Schutte, author of 'Set Yourself Free,' talks with ABC7
June 14, 2012 - 08:18 am
It’s an amazing story of survival—Reon Schutte is a former South African Special Forces soldier who survived 13 years in a POW camp.
While there, he developed cancer—and just wrote a book about it.
The author of “Set Yourself Free,” spoke with ABC7, saying that the largest lesson he learned from his struggles in the Zimbabwe camp was that “it doesn’t matter what happens to us in life, it’s how we react to what happens to us in life.”
Schutte addresses the importance of letting go and making a choice to not be a “prisoner” to the circumstances that challenge you in life.
