Daybreak Daily’s afternoon visit to the pop-culture recording studio finds an overdue voice ready for use, a lover of conspiracy theories, other things, and the mystery music video.

SELENA SINGS: She misses her original craft, per E!, “Gomez, 19, is going back into the recording studio. "This is the first year I haven't put out music," she said at a press preview of Hotel Transylvania. "I miss it." She wants to put out her fourth album followed by some touring. "I think this is going to be the biggest one for me personally," Gomez said.” http://eonli.ne/QbmkAO

BUSY MAN: That would be Oliver Stone, per the Los Angeles Times, “The director behind “Platoon,” “Born on the Fourth of July” and “JFK” has been busily promoting “Savages,” July 6’s drug war drama starring Blake Lively, Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson. But that’s not the only high-profile project waiting in the wings: Stone has been racing to finish “Secret History of America,” the filmmaker’s long-delayed documentary series that’s due on Showtime in November.” http://lat.ms/LNITK3

GMA SCOOPS EVERYONE: Of course, there’s a reason, per People, “Just a week after she told PEOPLE she was still dating John Edwards and the two were spotted getting cozy at their North Carolina beach house, Rielle Hunter says that they are no longer in a relationship (again). "We are a family, but as of the end of last week, John Edwards and I are no longer a couple," she said on Tuesday's Good Morning America, the same day her tell-all arrives in bookstores.” http://bit.ly/QbZjOg

SNAKE IN THE GRASS?: Someone has a secret, per Rolling Stone, “The Beach Boys are in the middle of their 50th anniversary reunion tour, stunning crowds from New Orleans to New York (but) frontman Mike Love is also planning for what happens when the tour is over; he's already booked fall dates with his touring version of the Beach Boys, without the group's other principal founding members. The news surprised Brian Wilson. "I wasn't aware that Mike had some shows in South America," Wilson tells Rolling Stone. "News to me." http://bit.ly/KBgOD8

NO FEAR: Can’t imagine her declining the opportunity, per Radar, “That was Angelina Jolie doing her own dangerous stunts on the set of her upcoming Disney film Maleficent in Buckinghamshire, England on Tuesday, and RadarOnline.com has the photos for you.” http://bit.ly/NIyod9

BIEBER FEVER: And yes, this is per the Wall Street Journal, “By disease standards, "Bieber Fever" is approaching a global pandemic with the release of the 18-year-old pop star's latest album, "Believe," last week. Compared with past outbreaks of fan mania, scientists now have a better understanding of why teens—girls in particular—become so passionate about some musicians, and the recording industry is far more adept at exploiting the phenomenon.” http://on.wsj.com/MQ8h1o

KEEPING UP WITH. . . Reese Witherspoon, per Us Weekly, “The actress, who's currently expecting her first child with husband Jim Toth, 41, began shooting Devil's Knot in Atlanta June 25. Witherspoon proudly showed off her baby bump in a mid-length purple wrap dress.” http://bit.ly/NxvV1H

THIS SOUNDS WILD: And somewhat surreal, per the AP, “A teddy bear who smokes pot, parties with hookers, beds pop stars and spews profanity in a New England accent as thick as chowdah? Such a creature could only come from the blissfully twisted mind of "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane, confidently making his feature directing debut with "Ted." http://apne.ws/Omuqbp

DAN RATHER: His take on ‘Newsroom,’ per Gawker, “I'm aware that my musings run counter to some of the more prominent early reviews in high-profile publications such as The New Yorker and the New York Times. But with all due respect (and I have a lot of it for those reviewers), I just don't think they "get it"; they've somehow missed the breadth, depth and "got it right" qualities –- and importance — of Newsroom.” http://gaw.kr/MS362B

AND FINALLY: Today’s mystery music video. http://bit.ly/MyNjU9
