Spc. Donna Maxson, Fort Detrick soldier, sentenced for allowing daughter's rape
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - A soldier from Fort Detrick has been sentenced by a court-martial judge to eight years in military prison for failing to stop her husband from molesting her 8-year-old daughter.
The Frederick News Post reports that Spc. Donna Maxson was convicted Tuesday for allowing the abuse.
She was acquitted of numerous other charges. Her husband Allen Maxson is serving three to 21 years in civilian prison for his conviction last year in Venango County, Pa., of possessing child pornography.
Police in Pennsylvania arrested the couple in March 2010 on charges including child pornography possession, and endangering the welfare of children.
The civilian criminal charges against Donna Maxson were dismissed last year because prosecutors couldn't link her alleged involvement to the Pennsylvania address where her husband lived.
