Thieves steal meat and seafood from Manassas store
The City of Manassas has a big beef with three shoplifters after police say they stole hundreds of dollars worth of steak and seafood from a local supermarket.
One of the men committed the crime while wearing women's clothing.
"This town is just crazy. I don't get it," exclaimed Manassas resident Robert Bostjanick.
Around 6 p.m. last week, police say two women and the man dressed in drag entered a Giant Food location in Manassas.
Surveillance footage shows the trio as they quickly made their way to the meat and seafood sections, filling their bags and a cart then walking past the cash register.
Manassas City Police Spokesman Sergeant Edwin Rivera explained, "Rather than pay for the items, they left the supermarket."
As they left through the doors, a manager tried to stop them, but couldn't. Police say the suspects left the store with $200 worth of meat and seafood.
Manassas shoppers ABC7 spoke with said they had never heard of such a crime.
Jackie Dunkley added, "That's crazy! They must have been mighty hungry!"
Meanwhile, police are hoping you can help identify the three. If you have any information that can help investigators, call the Crime Solvers line at 703-330-0330.
