Grady Alexander Vickers killed in Tysons stabbing
Grady Alexander Vickers, 57, of Falls Church, Virginia was stabbed and killed by Mark Shelor, 24 on Thursday, following an argument between the two at a day program near Tysons Corner, police say.
Fairfax County Police said Vickers was stabbed in the abdomen with a sharp object by Shelor shortly after 9:30 in the morning. The incident happened near Old Meadow Road and Route 123 in McLean.
The stabbing occurred after the two men got into an argument outside of the facility of a company called PRS, Inc. Serving more than 700 residents, Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services partners with county,state and federal agencies to provide job training and educational programs those with serious mental illness.
Both the suspect and victim were described by police as schizophrenics - who were enrolled in programs at PRS.
Shelor stayed on the scene after the incident.
The two men knew each other, but there was no indication of what sparked the argument. There were witnesses to the incident, police said.
Shelor is being charged with murder.
