A man from Woodbridge was arrested for rape on Saturday.

Alex Yamil Velasquez-Rubio, 25, of Woodbridge was charged with the rape of a 22 year old woman from Great Falls.

Detectives responded to a report of a sexual assault on Saturday. The woman said that she and a friend were visiting Velasquez-Rubio, who is a known acquaintance, at his home. The woman reported that she fell asleep and was awakened to Velasquez-Rubio assaulting her.

She said she was able to get away and contact police.
