Beer truck loses load on I-270 near Frederick
July 26, 2012 - 06:12 am
A tractor-trailer carrying a load of beer has overturned on Interstate 270, spilling cases of the beverage on the roadway.
Maryland State Police reports the 18-wheeler was trying to avoid debris on the highway when it rolled over near the Frederick-Montgomery County line around 4 a.m. Thursday.
Prior to the accident, police say someone called them reporting that a large piece of debris was in the roadway.
All northbound lanes of I-270 are currently closed at Old Hundred Road, Exit 22, but traffic is getting by on the right shoulder, police say. Delays are also building southbound. The closure is expected to last for a while.
