COMMUTE
Bethesda, Medical Center stations closed starting Friday night
Two Red Line stations in Montgomery County will close for the weekend starting Friday night in the latest round of Metro track work.
Starting at 10 p.m. Friday, WMATA will close both the Medical Center and Bethesda stations. They'll remain closed until the opening of the system on Monday. Trains will operate between Shady Grove and Grosvenor and Friendship Heights and Glenmont.
In its place, buses will replace trains between Grosvenor and Friendship Heights. Riders are urged to add 30 minutes to their travel time in that area.
In addition, single-tracking and service modifications will occur in the following places:
Green Line: Single-tracking between Fort Totten and Prince George's Plaza
Yellow Line: Trains will only run between Mt. Vernon Square and Huntington
Blue Line: Single-tracking between Van Dorn Street and Franconia-Springfield. Every other train will terminate at Van Dorn Street.
Orange Line: Single-tracking in two places - between East and West Falls Church and between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly
