SALISBURY, Md. (AP) - A 10-year-old Maryland boy is being credited for helping rescue a young girl at the bottom of a pool.
Carter Spicer tells the Daily Times of Salisbury that he noticed a 6-year-old girl floating face-down at the bottom of the Salvation Army's pool on Monday.
He dove down to check on her, alerted the counselor when he came up for air and then grabbed her by the arm to help pull her back up.
Lifeguards offered aid after the girl was placed on the pool deck. She began breathing after lifeguards performed mouth-to-mouth.
Spicer, who was at the pool with Salisbury Christian School's summer camp, says he was "just doing the right thing."
