D.C. Council to address truancy reduction, alcohol bill
July 12, 2012 - 07:02 am
The D.C. Council will hold a public oversight roundtable Thursday on truancy reduction in the city’s school system.
The meeting is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m., following by a public hearing on an alcohol-related bill at 11 a.m.
Under the proposal, stores with class-A licenses would be allowed to see hard liquor on Sundays, as well as beer and wine.
The sales tax revenue generated would help reduce D.C.’s budget deficit.
