Darryl Eugene Sweet killed in Northeast
Police are investigating the murder of a 61-year-old man who was found on a D.C. street a day before his death
Officers were called to the 3800 block of Minnesota Avenue, NE just after 10 p.m. on July 26 for reports of a man who appeared to be intoxicated. The unconscious and unresponsive man, later identified as Darryl Eugene Sweet Sr., was taken and admitted at an area hospital.
Sweet was found to be suffering from an internal head wound and died the next day.
Police say his cause of death was ruled to be by blunt force trauma to the head.
