Apparent Oakton murder-suicide kills two people
July 25, 2012 - 09:47 pm
Two people were killed in an Oakton home on Wednesday evening in what Fairfax County Police officials believe was a murder-suicide.
Authorities say they were called to a home in the 3000 block of Trevor House Drive at about 7 p.m. last night on reports of shots fired. When they arrived, they found one man shot and killed and another injured.
Police identified the man who was found dead at the scene as 43-year-old Ihaq Qutob. Officials say he was shot by Alexander Rios, 27, who then turned the gun on himself.
Rios was rushed to an area hospital, where he later died.
The investigation into the shooting continues, police say.
