Gaithersburg fireworks celebration rescheduled
July 13, 2012 - 10:31 am
The City of Gaithersburg will celebrate America’s birthday Friday night, more than a week late.
The city is hosting “Finally, Fireworks!” at 5 p.m. at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, located at 16 Chestnut Street.
Due to severe storms that swept through the Washington region last month, city officials were forced to cancel the event, which was set for Fourth of July.
Friday's event features a two-hour concert featuring Bobby and the Believers, which starts at 7:30 p.m., followed by the fireworks display at 9:25 p.m.
In the event of rain, Friday’s display will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012.
