Germantown cyclist critically injured in fall in woods
July 6, 2012 - 11:55 am
A mountain biker who fell while riding in the woods in Germantown is suffering from life-threatening injuries, Montgomery County fire officials say.
Fire spokesperson Beth Anne Nesselt says that first responders were called to the 16500 block of Germantown Road on reports that the cyclist had fallen and was injured. Nesselt said that trails in the area aren't clearly marked and that storm debris complicated rescue efforts.
The cyclist was removed from the area in a basket and flown by Maryland State Police to an area hospital with serious injuries.
