Huntington check cashing robbery: Suspects cut hole in roof to rob business
A check cashing business in Huntington was robbed Monday morning when police say a pair of suspects cut a hole in the roof and held an employee at gunpoint.
Fairfax County Police say the robbery happened at the ACE Cash Express at 2254 Huntington Ave. just before 9:15 a.m. on Monday. An employee told authorities that she heard a crashing sound, and when she turned around, a man wearing a mask and gloves was pointing a pistol at her.
Police then say the first suspect grabbed the employee while the second armed man demanded that she open a safe. The two suspects then got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
The employee was not injured during the robbery.
Officials issued descriptions of the two suspects, both of whom police believe are in their 20s, wore masks and dark hooded sweatshirts:
-Suspect 1: black male, 6-foot-4, 280 pounds
-Suspect 2: black male, 5-foot-10, 185 pounds, wearing dark sunglasses and a red bandana
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Fairfax County Police or Crime Solvers.
