John Martini charged with DUI, hitting OC officer with car
OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) - Ocean City police have charged a Pennsylvania man with numerous offenses after he allegedly struck a bicycle officer with his SUV.
Twenty-year-old John Martini of Wickhaven, Pa., is charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, driving under the influence of alcohol and more than a dozen other offenses after Tuesday night's incident.
Officers tell the Daily Times of Salisbury that a bicycle patrol officer stopped Martini after seeing an alleged traffic violation.
The officer asked Martini to get out of his vehicle, but Martini allegedly drove toward the officer, hitting him with the passenger side and knocking him off his bicycle.
Martini was arrested after a vehicle pursuit and foot chase.
