Daybreak Daily’s afternoon browse through the pop-culture pages finds revealing quotes, a church, other things, and the mystery music video.

HINT, HINT: Of reading between the lines, per the New York Daily News, “Her divorce filings may have shocked husband Tom Cruise, but it's becoming clear that for Katie Holmes, this was a long time coming. The demure actress, 33, gave an interview to Elle magazine mid-May, just six weeks before she went public with her decision to split with the "Rock of Ages" actor - and in it, she seems to hint at the impending divorce.

"I definitely feel much more comfortable in my own skin. I feel sexier. I think in my 20s, it's like you're trying too hard to figure everything out," she said in the magazine’s August issue of enjoying her 30s. "I'm starting to come into my own. It's like a new phase." http://nydn.us/Pk85x0

MEANWHILE: A good read about the situation and Scientology, per The Hollywood Reporter, “Holmes appears more aggressive and fearless than those who have taken steps to distance themselves from the church or have "blown" -- Scientology parlance for leaving the church -- according to one-time key members of the church who have left, many after years of soul searching, and endured what they claim was often harassment, intimidation and being cut off from their families.” http://bit.ly/KVYIvY

AND THIS: From remorse to resolve, per Radar, “Tom Cruise hunkered down on the 4th of July to strategize how to proceed after his estranged wife, Katie Holmes, filed for divorce, but he has made getting temporary visitation of their 6-year-old daughter, Suri, his main priority, and he intends to go to court in Los Angeles and make the plea in person.” http://bit.ly/L36ed6

THE OL’ 45: That’s a record, people, per the Los Angeles Times, “Mid-year Nielsen SoundScan results released Thursday show that album sales thus far in 2012 trail those of the same period last year by 3%. What's more, the top-selling album of 2012 is Adele's "21," an effort that was released way back in January 2011. Sales of individual songs, however, remains a bright spot. Digital tracks are up 6% thus far this year compared with the same period in 2011.” http://lat.ms/KVZMjg

TROUBLE: Like this never happens with anyone their age, per TMZ, “He loves her ... he loves her not -- TMZ has learned, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have broken up multiple times in the last few months. Sources in a position to know tell us, Biebs and Selena most recently ended things last week -- but have since decided to give their relationship another try ... kinda.” http://bit.ly/O9PtJZ

BIG NEWS FOR SOME: Literary heads are exploding for different reasons, per the New York Times, “In an interview in The Paris Review in 1958 Ernest Hemingway made an admission that has inspired frustrated novelists ever since: The final words of “A Farewell to Arms,” his wartime masterpiece, were rewritten “39 times before I was satisfied.” . . . A new edition of “A Farewell to Arms,” which was originally published in 1929, will be released next week, including all the alternate endings, along with early drafts of other passages in the book.” http://nyti.ms/O9Qx0n

WOODSTOCK: Of sorts, and now it’s in limbo, per the Huffington Post, “The nation's marquee music festival is homeless: Goldenvoice, the company that produces the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Annual Festival, has reportedly decided to move the massive concert weekend out of Indio after the California city proposed an $18 ticket tax for 2014.” http://huff.to/LRuSNd

EXPECTING: Just the facts, per the AP, “Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila aren't just newlyweds, they're also expecting. McConaughey's representative confirmed that his wife is pregnant with the couple's third child. Both the actor and his bride tweeted the news on Wednesday.” http://apne.ws/MXuZY0

COMING OUT: And doing so with music, per Rolling Stone, “After a listening for Frank Ocean's upcoming album Channel Orange was held last month, speculation over the R&B singer's sexuality grew, particularly after the blogger This Is Max noted that a few songs on the album seemed to be inspired by a love story between two men. “ http://bit.ly/KW1sJy
