Keith Littlepage convicted of killing Selina Knight
WASHINGTON (AP) - A District of Columbia man who prosecutors say killed his ex-girlfriend and left behind a message accusing her of giving him HIV has been convicted of first-degree premeditated murder.
Jurors in D.C. Superior Court returned the verdict Tuesday against Keith Littlepage, who faces a life sentence.
Prosecutors say 36-year-old Selina Knight had ended a romantic relationship with Littlepage shortly before her murder in March 2011.
Prosecutors say he ransacked her apartment and threw her father's cremation ashes in the toilet before fatally stabbing her. Prosecutors say he scribbled a message that accused Knight of having given him HIV.
Prosecutors say he killed her not because of HIV but because she had broken up with him. Littlepage, who has a prior voluntary manslaughter conviction, is to be sentenced on Sept. 26.
