A special session was announced at a press conference that O'Malley, Senate President Mike Miller and House Speaker Mike Busch held at the State House.

Lawmakers at the session will most likely discuss a sixth gaming site, most likely in Prince George's County at National Harbor as well as expanding table gaming.

Not at issue is changing the tax rate from the current rate of 67 percent.

The special session will be held Aug. 9. The senate president expects the session to last two to three days.

The O'Malley administration has been working to reach an agreement with House members to allow table games, such as blackjack, and a new casino site in Prince George's County.

Voters would need to approve an expansion of gambling, and ballot language must be official by Aug. 20.
