Patriotism triumphs over heat index at America's parade at National Mall
July 4, 2012 - 06:19 pm
WATCH: ABC7's Gail Huff talks with parade participants and onlookers.
Parades were held in towns and neighborhoods in Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. to celebrate the Fourth of July.
But the one that grabbed everyone's attention was the parade at the National Mall.
The heat index was at 105 degrees, but revelers didn't let that dampen their patriotic mood for America's parade.
Despite the sweltering heat, those in bands had no choice but to wear their uniforms.
