Bowie barricade ends after suspect fires shots
Updated: July 27, 2012 - 09:41 am
A suspect is in custody after a man barricaded himself inside a Bowie home Friday morning with two teenagers inside.
Prince George's County Police officials say that two teens, aged 14 and 16, were rescued by authorities during the barricade, which happened in a home in the 15000 block of Orchard Run drive. After they were told to go to a back bedroom by a 911 dispatcher, police used a tall ladder to remove the kids from the house.
Police then say that the man, who is believed to be either the stepfather of the children or their mother's boyfriend, fired two shots before being taken into custody.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.
