Police seek suspect in Landover cab driver shooting
Investigators released a composite sketch of the man they say shot and wounded a cab driver Tuesday afternoon during an attempted robbery in Landover Hills.
Investigators say the suspect hailed the taxi at the New Carollton Metro station, asking the driver to take him to Cooper Lane Elementary School in Landover. Police say when they arrived just after 2 p.m., the suspect attempted to rob the driver.
The driver was shot in the leg when he refused, police report. He was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and released.
The suspect remains at-large.
He is described by police as being a 5'10", 170 pound black male with a dark complexion. Police say he is 20-years-old and has short hair. The shooter was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with a yellow design on the front and khaki cargo shorts, according to police.
