Rafael Nadal withdraws from Olympics, report says
Rafael Nadal is withdrawing from competing for Spain in the London Summer Olympics, NBC Sports reports.
Nadal reportedly said that he is "not in condition to compete" at the Olympics, which begin next week.
Currently ranked as the #3 men's tennis player in the world by the ATP, the Spanish tennis star won the gold medal in Men's Singles in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
Nadal is an 11-time Grand Slam Singles champion, a record that includes seven French Open titles.
However, Nadal has gone through a rough stretch after winning this year's French Open over rival Roger Federer. Nadal lost in the 2nd round at Wimbledon to Lukas Rosol in what's regarded by tennis experts as one of the biggest upsets in Grand Slam history.
