A Maryland man was sentenced to 14 months behind bars for killing a bicyclist in SE D.C. in 2010.
A D.C. Superior Court judge sentenced Richard Austin, 52, for killing David Haywood Williams Jr., 40, on June 4, 2010 along Southern Avenue. He was charged with negligent homicide.
Authorities say Austin drove away two blocks after striking Williams and then returned on foot to the scene.
