Sam Champion talks with ABC7

During a visit to Good Morning America last week, ABC7’s Steve Chenevey got a chance to speak with our area’s own, Sam Champion.

Champion, GMA’s weather anchor, is a native of Fairfax, Virginia.

He shared his excitement about working with the entire GMA team, saying that if it wasn’t for the close-knit team, working such an early morning shift would be hard.

Champion, who is an avid Twitter user, also said that he appreciates the social media forum as a way to get instant feedback from viewers.

Champion will be hosting a show called “Sea Rescue” Saturday mornings on ABC7 at 9:30 a.m.
