Sharon Marie Maynard arrested, charged with child neglect
A 33-year-old Woodbridge woman has been charged with felony child neglect after authorities found "deplorable" conditions where a 1- and 3-year-old children were living.
Prince William County Police have charged Sharon Marie Maynard, of the 14100 block of Essex Drive in Woodbridge, with two counts of felony neglect after the conditions at her home were deemed unlivable for children early Friday morning.
Authorities say that responding officers found debris, sharp objects and tools, open pill bottles, cigarettes, lighters and a butane torch on the floor of the residence. The children were not at home when officers arrived, but when Maynard came home with them, she was arrested.
The children have been removed from the home by the county's Department of Social Services. Maynard is being held on $3,000 bond.
