Silver Spring Transit Center delays sparks uproar
The long-drawn-out Silver Spring Transit Center is leading to calls for answers.
The Action Committee for Transit is calling for a public meeting on the Silver Spring Transit Center.
The ACT will be handing out leaflets at the Silver Spring Metro on Thursday as part of the effort to call for a public forum to get answers about when the bus terminal will open, and what the reasoning behind any delays have been.
A letter to the County Council from ACT president Tina Slater pointed out that the groundbreaking for this building was four years ago and riders were promised that it would be open by the end of 2010.
"We need answers," she wrote, noting that the Council had held a public meeting to answer public questions about escalator problems at the Bethesda Metro.
"Silver Spring transit riders deserve the same consideration," she said.
