Two dead in apparent murder-suicide in Falls Church
FALLS CHURCH, Va. (ABC7, AP) - Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide at the Eden Center shopping plaza in Falls Church.
The shooting occurred around 10 p.m. Saturday. Falls Church Deputy Police Chief Mary Gavin tells The Washington Post the first man was shot as he emerged from his car. Gavin says he ran across the parking lot before collapsing. He died at the scene.
The victim is identified as Tai “Peter” Phan, 49.
Gavin says police searched for the shooter for about an hour before finding a man slumped inside a car. He appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and there was a gun inside the car.
The alleged shooter was identified as The Vu, 39.
Eden Center is a shopping and entertainment complex with mostly Vietnamese businesses.
