Washington Nationals beat Giants 9-4, hold best record in National League
It's something baseball fans in Washington and across the league didn't expect - on July 4, the Nationals have the best record in the National League.

Ryan Zimmerman, Michael Morse, Rick Ankiel and Jhonatan Solano all slugged home runs for Washington in a 9-4 Independence Day victory over teh San Francisco Giants, pushing the Nationals 15 games over .500 for the second time this season.
The Nationals have now scored 18 runs in two days against the leaders of the N.L. West. They're now 4 games clear of New York in the National League East.
San Francisco went up 3-0 in the 1st inning on the strength of a Buster Posey RBI and a Pablo Sandoval home run. However, Washington was able to rattle off 7 unanswered runs after that.
