Worker injured after falling from roof to sidewalk in Arlington
July 27, 2012 - 12:06 pm
A 35-year-old man suffered significant injures when he fell several stories to the ground off of a Rosslyn building, police say.
Arlington County Police officials say a worker fell about three stories to the ground from the roof of a walkway that connects two buildings on Wilson Boulevard in Arlington. Police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said the worker was not clipped into a harness when he fell.
The ABC 7 newsroom is housed in the building from which the worker fell.
The victim's attempt to grab a rope to keep from falling failed, Sternbeck said.
Police say the man was taken to George Washington Hospital with significant internal injuries.
