AAA: Gas prices rising in Virginia
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Gas prices have been steadily rising in Virginia this month and are now higher than last year at this time.
In Virginia, AAA Mid-Atlantic says the price of a gallon of regular gasoline now averages $3.55 statewide.
That's 11 cents more than last week and 4 cents higher than a year ago. Gas prices range from about $3.42 in the Charlottesville area to $3.56 in the Richmond and Norfolk areas.
Prices averaged $3.46 in the Roanoke metro area.
The auto club says that compares with an average price at the pump nationwide of $3.69 per gallon.
Officials with AAA say there seems to be no short-term end to gas prices continuing their climb next week.
